furniture friday: reclaimed patchwork coffee table

There are two ways to incorporate reclaimed wood into a design: either recast it in a totally new form, which is easy enough to do with larger pieces, or find a way to use it as-is, which can be an exciting challenge when it comes to smaller, more weathered pieces of wood. Margaret Taylor, a Georgia-based artist, has become a master of the latter option. She creates handmade tables, chairs, bed frames, lamps, and accessories with gorgeously integrated reclaimed wood scraps from architectural molding, beaded board, barns, and other sources. This square coffee table, reminiscent of a patchwork quilt, is a perfect example of Taylor’s ability to join folksy charm with modern geometric design in her reclaimed wood furniture. The study steel table comes in two sizes and a variety of colors. Each table she makes is one-of-a-kind.
