finding inspiration at ted 2009
Posted by: Michelle on February 5th, 2009

I am currently at TED 2009, taking in enough inspiring talks to last a lifetime. So far, one of the most inspiring talks was also the most unusual in that Al Gore, arguably the most recognizable face of today’s green movement, was just the opening act to the main event: Ray Anderson of Interface Carpets. Ray spoke about his experience “reforming” his company from an oil gobbling super polluter to an exemplary green business. We love Interface Carpets’ FLOR line (you’ll find it in our offices, our clients’ homes, and the Smart Home exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry), so it was wonderful to learn more about the firm’s green story. Plus, I am fortunate enough to call Ray, who is so real and genuine that it’s almost hard to believe, a friend, so seeing him on stage at TED was awesome. I definitely recommend learning more about his work by reading the official TED blog post on Ray’s talk.
