it’s “recycle your defunct old cell phone week!”

Well, technically it’s called “National Cell Phone Recycling Week“, but our version sounds more exciting. Whatever you call it, this is the week (April 6 - 12) that the EPA and Plug-In To eCycling have designated for a nationwide campaign to of cell phone recycling. According to the EPA, the event is “a joint effort with leading cell phone manufacturers, service providers and retailers to increase the awareness and recycling rates for cell phones and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs).” In order to do so, “program partners across the country are rolling out a series of in-store promotions, contests and giveaways while providing in-store and online recycling opportunities to assist consumers in the “eCycling” process. Plug-In partners supporting this nationwide effort through special promotions include AT&T, Samsung, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless.” Find out more from the EPA website or by visiting Earth 911.
