earth day activity kit: mkPocket

You can go green no matter what you’re age. To prove it, we have come up with a great project for the green teen. As a teenager, it can be hard to be sustainable when it comes to your clothing collection. You want to keep up with the latest fashions, which means you keep buying more clothes even though you have a closet full of perfectly wearable pieces you bought less than a year ago but that you won’t be caught dead in now, right? Or perhaps you’re the sort of teen who just wears through your clothing so fast that your parents suspect you of spending all day everyday horsing around in the park with your friends instead of going to class. Whatever the reason, we’re sure you have some clothes lying around somewhere that you can’t (or just plain won’t) wear anymore and at least one of those pieces is probably an old pair of jeans. So why not do something fun and useful with them so that they don’t go to waste? Make them into an mkPocket!

This Earth Day project gives you a great reason to haul that old pair of jeans or jean jacket out of clothing purgatory and give it a good wash because now you can give your old denim new life as a styling cover for your iPod or even your parents’ iPhones (we all know that most parents are in need of more style). All you need are the pockets of your old, over-loved jeans or jacket. From these you can create unique, totally customized fashion for your equally over-loved mobile device.

Download the mkPocket DIY Guide today to give your mp3 player or phone some fabulous eco-style just in time for Earth Day!
